Indonesia is the 16th largest economy in the world, and the biggest economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).The manufacturing industry is one of the key industries for European SMEs doing business in Indonesia. There are some specific considerations EU SMEs from the manufacturing industry should keep in mind when designing a successful intellectual propejorty protection strategy. Andrew Conduit
Andrew is uniquely qualified to advise foreign clients on Indonesian intellectual property issues. He is a registered Foreign Advocate (PERADI, Indonesia), a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland (Australia), a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia, and a registered mediator (PMN, Nasional Mediation Center). His tertiary studies include a masters in intellectual property and dispute resolution, and advanced-level Indonesian studies. He speaks Bahasa Indonesia fluently, having lived in Jakarta with his family from 1983. His past practice experience includes litigation and advisory work in the dispute resolution team of a top-tier Australian firm, and advising on the prosecution, litigation and enforcement of intellectual property rights at a top-tier UK IP firm. At SKC Law Andrew advises foreign clients on all aspects of intellectual property in Indonesia.
In a jurisdiction that is often described as difficult and unpredictable, Andrew has an established reputation for providing sound, practical advice. His ability to work in Bahasa Indonesia, English and Japanese allows him to bridge gaps in intercultural communication and achieve results for clients looking to profit from Indonesia’s vast commercial opportunities.
