New EU and China IP Law Database launched

IP Key, a project of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and the European Patent Office (EPO), have launched the EU and China Law Database. It is an online database designed as a comprehensive resource of IP laws in Europe and China, containing over 1,600 documents (with ongoing updates).

The database not only contains many of the major Chinese IP laws translated to English, but also includes related documents such as implementation guidelines, and case laws (i.e. higher court judgements) and agreements.

It is aimed at industry, academics and legal advisors, and should be useful to SMEs’ European legal counsel when facing a specific IPR infringement situation and reviewing possible enforcement strategies. It should also prove particularly helpful for quick reference on the IP environment regarding ‘advanced’ IP types, such as plant variety protection and geographical indications.
